Over the past year, everyone I have come in contact within the journalism field has told me that stations are looking for producers.
Stations are becoming desperate.
Students in college want to be reporters, MMJ’s and anchors, etc.
No one wants to be a producer anymore.
That’s slightly surprising to me.
I want to be a producer. You’d think it’d be easier for someone like me to get a job.
I want to do the job that many people in my field don’t have an interest in anymore.
But I’ve received more rejection emails than not.
I may not have the three to five years of experience in producing, but I do have the interest and drive to learn.
I’m willing to put the effort in.
But are stations willing to do the same?
