Is LinkedIn Another Facebook

Over the past few weeks, I noticed on LinkedIn an exciting back and forth on this topic.

LinkedIn is a platform meant for professionals to connect and network with one another. While this is true, some individuals believe that there is room for personal photos and posts, similar to ones that you may find on Facebook.

They believe it brings a human touch to the platform. Others feel those posts don’t belong, and LinkedIn isn’t meant for that kind of content.

Personally, as many in my network have stated in the past, as long as the posts and photos lead to a more significant message and have a purpose, than it should be allowed.

For example, if an individual went on a run and posted a photo of them dressed in their running clothes, running down the side of the road, and it’s just the photo that would seem off to have on LinkedIn. That belongs to Facebook. But if the individual added a paragraph or two about motivation and accomplishing a goal of theirs by running, then it would belong on LinkedIn.

As long as it can tie to a greater message, it belongs to the platform. What’s your stance?
