Spring break calls for many date nights with your special someone! For this post, I will be reviewing my favorite Italian restaurant.

Last night my boyfriend and I made reservations at a very special place called Veneto, located in Rochester, NY. Granted we have both only been there once, we still name it our favorite because it was a great experience the first time around.

Let’s talk about the atmosphere… There is no doubt that you will feel like you’re in Italy when stepping foot into this restaurant. The kitchen is exposed containing a large woodfire pizza oven, and a clear vision of the chef cooking your meal. The restaurant has a rustic feel with warm light, enough to make anyone feel fancy.

Veneto is not just a restaurant for a romantic date, but it’s family friendly too! Infact, as soon as we walked in, there were 4 tables pushed together to accomodate a large family for a birthday celebration. Overall, the atmosphere of Veneto is amazing, no matter who you are, there is no doubt you will feel comfortable in this restaurant.

Now for the most important part, the FOOD!! Jonah went with the Pasta Rustica, and I went with the Chicken Parmigiano over a bed of angel hair pasta with vodka sauce, along with a glass of their housemade white wine. Let me tell you, this meal was amazing!! Before the meal, we were given a basket of Italian bread and butter and made our own concoction of olive oil, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes for dipping. If you don’t do this at an Italian restaurant then what are you doing!? Anyways, the service was fast and we got our food in no time.

If you’re someone who loves peppers, onions and sausage, then the Pasta Rustica is for you! However, I highly recommend the meal that I had. The piece of chicken was thoroughly encrusted in breadcrumbs and cooked perfectly with a crispy outer layer, topped with a blob of melted mozzarella. One of my favorite types of pasta is angel hair, so I already knew I was going to love this dish. The sauce was super creamy and decadent with a hint of spice.

Alone, both components of the dish were to die for but I ate them together, it was a whole different ball game. The crunch of the chicken and smoothness of the sauce was a perfect melody of flavors, not to mention the portion size was abundant. I took the remainder of the dish home and guess what I had for breakfast the next day:)

All in all, our date night was a success all because of Veneto. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to check out this restaurant! You will not be disappointed.
