How to Be Seen

Over the past semester, I’ve been applying for job positions all over LinkedIn, as well as some of my peers.

After applying for a news station position, one of my peers personally reached out to the news director.

This is a fantastic tool.

By sending that cold email, it shows the news director that you are interested enough to research and find them.

It also helps your chances of being seen. News stations get many applications per job posting, and there’s a good chance your application may fall out of the pile.

By reaching out to the news director through email or on their LinkedIn, it increases your chances of being interviewed and hired.
