20 Must Have Amazon Travel Necessities

20 Must Have Amazon Travel Necessities

Traveling overseas? Studying abroad?

After I came back from studying abroad, I realized I wouldn’t be able to live with some items I purchased.

These items made my life a million times easier!

Here are a list of 20 of my favorite products from Amazon.

If you want to purchase any of these items, feel free to click on the item title or picture for get directly to the amazon link.

1. UNIVERSAL TRAVEL ADAPTER

Travel Adapter
            Travel Adapter

European countries use different types of plugs than we do here in America.

If you are traveling out of your home country, you must purchase one of these in order to charge any of your electronics.

I would make sure to purchase one that has an American outlet plugin and not just USB plugins.

I purchased an adapter that only had USB plugins and I wasn’t able to charge my laptop.

This adapter on amazon is perfect. It comes in a pack of two and has two USB ports and two American outlets.

This adapter is also compatible in almost all European countries.

2. PORTABLE CHARGER

There will be days that you’ll leave your apartment in the morning and not be back until night because there is so much to see and do.

Between using the maps app and taking pictures your battery will drain extremely fast.

I’ve learned through personal experience that traveling with a dead phone is terrifying, and most cafe’s will not allow you to charge your phone without buying anything.

I highly recommend this portable charger from amazon.

3. APPLE AIRTAG

Apple Air Tag

Everyone’s worst nightmare when traveling is loosing your luggage at the airport.

More recently, there are major issues right now with airlines losing luggage.

Apple’s AirTags are a brilliant way to track your bags when you travel.

With the Apple AirTag you can keep track of and find your luggage in the iPhone’s Find My app.

Packing Cubes

4. PACKING CUBES

If you haven’t used packing cubes yet, this is your sign.

Packing cubes are a total lifesaver when it comes to keeping organized!

They allow you to easily find things in your suitcase without making a mess.

You can roll up your clothes into these cubes to make use of tight spaces.

They come in all different shapes and sizes to fit every clothing item.

Compression Travel Bags 5. COMPRESSION BAGS

These compression bags have specially designed zippers and fabric that pushes all air out as you pack and press on clothes.

These bags ensure you can fit more and maximize space in your suitcase.

6. HANGING TOILETRY BAG Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag

This toiletry bag is my favorite for travel.

This toiletry bag from amazon has multiple compartments to hold all of your toiletries, makeup, makeup brushes, jewelry, hair accessories, etc.

Not to mention bathroom counter space is going to be very limited it Europe.

This is where this a toiletry bag that hangs comes in handy. Rather than taking up valuable counter space, you can hang it on the wall, the shower rod, or on the back of a door.

7. TRAVEL JEWELRY BOXTravel Jewelry Box

Nothing is more annoying when you get ready for the night out and the last step in your routine is to put on your jewelry — only to find it in a tangled mess.

This travel-friendly jewelry organizer allows you to store your jewelry safety and neatly.

Electronic Organizer 8. Electronic Organizer

This organizer was a lifesaver for me when I was abroad. I had so many different plugs, wires and chargers.

This technology case will keep all of your cords organized so you don’t lose track of anything.

9. TRAVEL SIZE LAUNDRY BAG

When traveling or studying abroad packing and getting your clothes there is your main concern.

But have you ever thought about where your going to put your dirty clothes?

This bag is very lightweight and easy to travel with. When it is folded up it is about the size of a credit card so it will take little room in your suitcase.

10. PASSPORT HOLDER Passport Holder

A passport cover is sort of like a book cover for your passport.

This will help you quickly identify where your passport is in your luggage, so you’re not scrambling around in the customs line.

This will add extra organization. Some covers contain extra pockets for money, ID’s, vaccination cards, or other random ticket slips.

11. LEAK PROOF TRAVEL BOTTLES Travel Bottles

These travel bottles from Amazon are by far the best on the market.

These are the only travel bottles that have actually been 100% leak proof.

Unlike most travel bottles, these have a wide opening making it easy to fill with thicker fluids.

This set is perfect for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and more.

Each bottle is 3oz, which is approved by the TSA carry-on rules.

Belt Bag

12. BELT BAG

The best purchase I ever made was the famous Lululemon belt bag.

It fitted everything I needed for the airport, and I even wore it casually out and about while studying abroad.

Especially since pickpocketing is super relevant in Europe it was perfect because it is strapped around you, and can even be hidden underneath a coat. If I had to recommend one thing, it would be this item.

13. TRAVEL BACKPACK

Travel Backpack

This is something that I wish I knew to purchase before traveling abroad.

You will spend most of your weekends traveling around different cities and countries around Europe.

As you may know, the streets in Europe are very old and there are A LOT of stairs.

When I traveled on the weekends, I was lugging around my carry-on suitcase. This was not the smartest thing, since my suitcase had wheels it was very hard to lug up and down the cobblestone streets without breaking a wheel.

This is why I highly recommend getting a travel backpack. It is the ideal size bag for a weekend getaway. This backpack of course fits within the allowed carry-on dimensions for airlines.

Tote Bag 14. Tote Bag

Not only are these bags super cute, they will come in handy.

Mostly everyone in Europe brings their own reusable bags to the grocery store.

This bag is great for going to traveling, going to markets, and can even be used as a replacement for a backpack.

Travel Journal 15. Journal

When you study abroad you are going to experience so many new things.

If you document your days abroad, it will be beautiful to reflect back on when you return home.

16. Travel Makeup Mirror

Travel Makeup Mirror

This folding travel mirror will make your life so much easier.

Hotel lighting is always bad and having a mirror with LED color lighting and adjustable brightness is a game changer when doing your makeup.

I was so glad I purchased this before going abroad because my apartment did not have any mirrors in the bedrooms.

This mirror is also very thin and takes up little to no room in your suitcase.

17. Luggage ScaleLuggage Scale

If you are an over packer, then this item is for you.

A lot of people don’t think to buy this, but it can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Many European airlines have strict luggage weight restrictions.

Instead of just blindly guessing how much your bags weigh, and hoping you aren’t charged with expensive fees, use this luggage scale so that you confidently know you won’t be spending unnecessary money by over-packing.

18. TRAVEL TOWEL

Travel Towel
                 Travel Towel

When you travel in Europe some hotels and especially hostels do not have towels for you to use.

I highly recommend purchasing a travel towel. It will take up less space in your luggage compared to packing a normal bathroom shower towel.

When this towel is packed and folded it is no larger than a T-shirt.

This towel is also microfiber so it will dry very quickly.

Portable Mini Speaker
                Travel Speaker

19. PORTABLE MINI SPEAKER

Of course it’s not a party without music.

I don’t know about you, but bumping music on a speaker is an every-day necessity.

I am a huge fan of JBL products, and this mini JBL speaker is perfect for travel.

When I went on hikes around Europe, I took advantage of the clip on this speaker and attached it to my backpack.

Silk Pillow Case

20. SILK PILLOW CASE

I personally get grossed out about not using my own pillow cases.

I already had been using silk pillow cases before going abroad because they are so much better for your hair and skin.

Also, since it is silk it was very easy to pack in my suitcase.

I hope you all found these items very useful!

Not to mention if you forgot to buy something before your trip, you CAN use Amazon Prime in Europe!

Let me know in the comment section, what other products you recommend purchasing before a huge travel trip.
