Top 5 Running Mini-Games

5. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

Generally, this is just shaking a Wii-remote to get through a run, but during the relays there are interesting quick-time events to pass off the baton. Good, but you’d expect better from a big studio.. 4/10

4. QWOP

It’s a game that’s only good trait is its addictive nature. Other than that it’s a beyond shallow flash game. 4/10

3. Wii Fit

In Wii fit, you can enter virtual races that are completed by running in place on the Wii Fit balance board. It’s fun – and the scenery is nice – but it’s novel at best. 5/10

2. Kinect Sports

Probably the best representation of track in video games. It’s the same mini-game format as Mario and Sonic, but the full-body nature of the Kinect system takes the gimmick of Mario and Sonic and makes it a little more re-playable. 6/10

1. GTAV Trialthlons

This is by far the most accurate representation of running in gaming. It’s tedious, long and it’s only worth it after it ends. Pressing “a” repeatedly for fifteen minutes is a good substitute for the monotony of putting one foot in front of the other. 8/10
