Maybe Just Maybe, You’ll Find Peace in that.

The Disney Dog Walk hosted by the Hail! Fredonia student record label on Saturday April 29th, will finally take place and I will be able to breathe once more. I remember stating something along the lines of “keeping busy helps you keep control of your life” and I’ve come to realize that the level of business has a limit before it starts to counteract itself.

When you really want something to go without any hiccups, it requires more than 100% of your time because you must anticipate things that haven’t even happened yet.

Luckily for the short film (Stuck on Serenity) my friends; sebastn, Saturday Session and I just finished shooting, all of our film days had cooperative weather, our actors and actresses weren’t exactly punctual but they were available to say the least, and we got permission from respective authorities to film at of locations we vacated.

Thankfully at this point, Stuck on Serenity is completely in the hands of Conor aka Saturday Session who will be editing it all together.

After the Dog Walk is over on April 29th, I’ll be able to focus on goals more relevant to my personal life and career path. Looking into full time jobs that could foster the life of my professional career is just as daunting as it is exciting.

Applying for jobs is as easy as its ever been with apps such as Indeed and Linkedin. The interview process is where things start to get freaky. The pressure of the first impression is immense.

Being told “tell me about yourself” is essentially just reciting the highlights of your resume. The moment you fumble any part of the pitch prompts you to ask yourself:

“Do they think I sound dumb?”

“Am I over-explaining?”

“Will I even work with them?”

All while trying to get through that recital of your resume.

But keep a head high and the mentality that it will all be said and done at some point. This marathon does indeed have a finish line.

It sounds dark but maybe, just maybe you may find peace in that.
