Stuck on Serenity weekend number two is officially underway. Now that Conor, Seb, along with the rest of the cast & I have an idea of what we’re getting into; we should be more prepared to race against the clock.
Tonight we’re shooting the basketball scene at Saint Mary’s High School in Lancaster and I have yet another shift at Rite Aid in Fredonia at 9 AM. The mental battle of efficiently functioning will be long faught; as we must film two more scenes tomorrow as well.
The mind of ADHD has a similar climate to the season of spring in Buffalo NY. The rapid change of weather from hot to cold has a beautiful symmetry to our own scatterbrained atmospheres. The acceptance of letting your brain run wild can be compared to letting nature run its course and sticking it out in the rain for the ever-so-rewarding rainbow.
I’ve arrived at a point where change is inevitable and whether it’s positive or negative is up to me. The real adult world is a scary place. A place of decision making and calculated risks rather than floating by with a part time job simply existing.
The balance between school and music is coming to an end in six weeks as I enter a new balance between music and a day-job. I need to leave Fredonia securing employment that I am proud to tell people about; even if it starts as an unpaid internship.
Regardless of the conditions, the outcome is dependent on my actions on a larger and larger scale as the days go on.
The ultimate goal is to create a version of myself that enjoys ushering in change that moves the ball forward, instead of relaxing in the monotony of the paycheck to paycheck society.
