Advanced Dribbling Drills:

Here are some great drills for my skilled players. Remember, practicing the basics is always a good idea.

Cone Dribbling Drill: Place a line of cones in a straight line and have the players dribble the ball in and out of them, alternating hands as they go. This drill helps with ball control and agility.

Figure 8 Drill: Set up two cones in a figure 8 pattern and have the players dribble the ball around them, switching hands as they go. This drill helps with hand-eye coordination and ball control.

Two-Ball Dribbling Drill: Have the players dribble two basketballs at the same time, alternating hands as they go. This drill helps with ball control and ambidexterity.

Dribble-Tag Drill: Divide the players into pairs and have them each dribble a basketball. One player tries to tag the other player’s basketball while the other player tries to protect it. This drill helps with agility and ball control.

Circle Dribbling Drill: Have the players form a circle and dribble the ball around each other, switching hands as they go. This drill helps with ball control and spatial awareness.

Full Court Dribbling Drill: Have the players dribble the ball from one end of the court to the other, using different dribbling techniques such as crossovers, between the legs, and behind the back. This drill helps with endurance and ball control.

Defensive Dribbling Drill: Have a defender try to steal the ball from the dribbler while they try to protect it and maintain control. This drill helps with ball control under pressure.

Cone Weave Dribbling Drill: Set up cones in a zigzag pattern and have the players dribble through them, switching hands as they go. This drill helps with agility and ball control.

Partner Dribbling Drill: Have the players pair up and stand facing each other while dribbling. They should try to match each other’s speed and movements. This drill helps with hand-eye coordination and ball control.

Low Dribble Drill: Have the players dribble the ball as low to the ground as possible while maintaining control. This drill helps with ball control and hand strength.
