Hi friends!
My name is Mia, I’m a senior in college who loves to escape into the different worlds that books offer. I found a love for reading at a fairly young age, and have kept that passion alive now as a twenty-one year old.
This site is here for that very same reason; I want to share the passion I have for literature and my silly little romance novels with other girls (or anyone) who also enjoys reading.
The first full novel I remember reading was shoved in my face by my mom, who also shares a love of literature and the things that books provide us with.
The novel was “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” by Judy Blume. I remember my middle school brain thinking, why would mom give me this? She’s not religious in the slightest. In fact, neither of my parents were religious, so the topic always felt very foreign and confusing. The book was, of course, about more than talking to God.
I fell in love with reading after finishing that little blue book in one evening because I related so heavily to the protagonist, an eleven year old named Margaret who struggles with her lack of commitment to religion, puberty, and the beast that is middle school as a whole. I’m not going to bore you with the specifics of a middle school level novel, but it was an important step in my journey as a reader.
I’ve read a good amount of books since those horrendous middle school years, and have come to appreciate several genres. I read mostly romance novels, simply out of a love of love of course, but a good thriller/mystery can get me hooked.
My favorite feeling in the world is finishing a book and being able to talk to someone else about the characters and the plot, so this is something else that I hope to accomplish with my new site! This is also why I chose English as a major in college, even though people love to tell me I won’t make much money after graduation. That’s a whole other story.
So, this site will primarily be a way for me to have larger conversations with other readers, hopefully non-readers too, about the books I love and want to talk about. I will review books I have read recently, rank my favorites, and talk about all things book related!
My next post will be books to read if you are just starting out! There are millions of books out there, so I can be your go-to girl for where to pick one.
