Hello everyone, it’s Kailyn Reynolds here. Just a girl from Long Island, New York.

It is not like most of the people you will meet that will have as much more knowledge on chickens than I do. From egg laying, to hatching chickens to knowing what to feed them, I know about most of it.

Ever since I was a little girl, both my mom and I were always fascinated with chickens. I never lived on a farm but my house now is pretty similar to what some people would consider one.

Who doesn’t like the company of chickens? Not to eat, but to keep as family pets outside to watch them live on with their lives. How they interact with one other chickens and how interesting it is to watch them lay eggs and hear the noises that come along after they run out.

Since I am older and more experienced now, rather than when I was 10, I hold knowledge that will help my audience understand the importance of the species of chickens.

There is only one problem, I am a second year journalism and video production student, in a place where no one has chickens in a 30 mile radius.

My solution you ask? My audience. I have family members and friends that are willing to help out by sending me there pictures of chickens, their feed, and homes. All while providing me with their very own knowledge on their animals. Keeping it all organized, interesting and fun for a larger audience.

My one mission for this blog is to keep everything interesting. Like I said, I grew up with these animals and I like to know how they think. Sometimes I even wonder if they know what I’m thinking!!

To the people outside of the chicken world, it can be extremely boring. I have heard too often that the only reason why people get chicken is when they want to barbeque or deep fry it.

It is my goal to persuade people with chickens to have more knowledge about chickens as a whole. Instead of having them inside, as house pets, to show that chickens live outdoors in a bright and vibrant environment.

There will even be sections for “New chicken lovers”, where there will be everything you need to know when starting out. Chickens may not be for everybody, but you will never know until you try them out!

I hope by reading my blog that you’ll benefit from all of the information that I will provide.

I cannot wait to go down this crazy road with all of you. I hope you find my cluckity clucking interesting and entertaining.
