Happy Wednesday everyone!
This week for our first official featured artist of the week, I bring to you one of my favorite polymer clay artists, Sugar Spice Snails.
If you like snails and fun themes, you will love Brittany’s work!
Brittany is currently located in Indianapolis, and has been creating unique snails using polymer clay for about 2 years now.
She has a degree in Art Education, focusing in Ceramics. She found that polymer clay was fun and convenient to work with.
I can’t help but agree with her there, polymer clay is also one of my favorite mediums.
Sugar Spice Snails came across my for-you page one day, and I absolutely fell in love with the creativity that Brittany brings to what is otherwise such a simple creature.
I asked Brittany what keeps her motivated to create, and this is what she said;
“A lot of things, but primarily the reactions and support that I get from the people who have found me online. I also just really enjoy the mental puzzle of figuring out how to combine two totally different subjects in a way that makes visual sense and is interesting to look at. The fact that I’ve been lucky enough to sell my work regularly is also a good motivator.”
I personally have loved seeing the wonderful things she’s been able to turn into a snail. Not to mention the beautiful details that she includes in every snail created. They’re wonderfully sculpted, painted, and each have such a different bold personality.
The thing I love the most about these creations is that she’s made so many themes that I guarantee you’ll find one you enjoy ! I’ve included some various examples in this post, but I don’t do the amount of work and effort any justice, you need to see these for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Below you can follow Sugar Spice Snails and check out more of Brittany’s wonderful work on your own! Please show her the love and support she deserves!
Have a great week everyone!
