Sunday Spins: March 6th, 2022

Good morning, friends! Happy Sunday! I decided to bring back ‘Sunday Spins’ for another Sunday!

THIS Sunday I decided to bring out one of my favorite groups that I am currently obsessed with:
Simon & Garfunkel

Spinning Today: Their 1964 debut album, “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.”.

Side One:
1. You Can Tell the World
2. Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
3. Bleecker Street
4. Sparrow
5. Benedictus
6. The Sounds of Silence

Side Two:
1. He Was My Brother
2. Peggy-O
3. Go Tell It On the Mountain
4. The Sun Is Burning
5. The Times They Are A-Changin’
6. Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.

I’ve been into a super 1960’s folk (rock) phase lately, so this album is perfect. Right after The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel are in my top favorite artists for sure, and this album is honestly one of my favorites. I ended up finding this album (in great condition!!!) at a local antique store for $8!!!

What’s not to love about this album?! I think the harmonies are absolutely captivating and the whole album is a perfect blend of gospel, folk and pop.

I remember driving my roommate to the airport at 5 A.M., and on my hour drive home I played this album on repeat as the sun was being to rise. The album gives off “waking up at 6 am, making a cup of coffee and enjoying the outside quietness” kind of vibe. Anyone else feel that way? Just me?

I think my favorites off this album are ” Peggy-O”, “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.”, “He Was My Brother”, and “Bleecker Street” (in no order). I mean, I love all the songs off this album actually.

Love this album? What songs are you jamming to today? Let me know in the comments! Happy Spinning 🙂

Peace out ☮︎
