Throwback Thursday may not be cool anymore, but any excuse to talk about my favorite older alternative music is worth the cringe, in my opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little disclaimer: I only consider this music to be “old” in the sense that it is no longer in the current most popular titles in the alternative scene. The way the music industry assigns age to music – and to musicians – is a whole can of worms that I would love to unpack… on another day. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, we honor Folie A Deux <\/em>by Fall Out Boy.<\/p>\n\n\n

This has long been one of my favorite FOB albums, and I couldn’t help but revisit it to reignite my passion for one of my favorite emo bands, especially with the release of their new singles – and a new album on the horizon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 years after its release, this album holds up to the test of time. I may not have been aware when it was released, but this album embodies so much of what I love about alternative and emo music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grit of the lyrics paired with Patrick Stump’s soulful lyrics is a classic part of Fall Out Boy’s discography, but this album does something special that is so hard to describe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best way I can describe it is that this album is saturated – every emotion it makes me feel is turned up to 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
