Alright, I’ve been talking about FOB and their new album a lot lately, but I felt like I couldn’t not talk about this.
When I saw Abby Jones’ article on it on Consequence Sound, linked here, I wasn’t convinced it was real until I clicked the link to the official website for Crynyl, which you can check out yourself here.
The band has released “Crynyl” – vinyl records containing real tears from the band members. The release was a super-limited edition release, consisting of only 50 tear-infused copies of their newest album So Much (For) Stardust.

And of course, it’s already sold out.
Whether or not there will be another release from Crynyl is currently unclear, but I’m selfishly hoping there will be so I can try and buy one myself.
While I’ve seen records with other liquids suspended in them, I’ve never seen anything like this before, especially not from such a major band.
It’s certainly an interesting marketing tactic that I wasn’t expecting to see, but I’d love to know what you guys think about it. Is it a gimmick or is it fun?
