This week we celebrate the birthday of Steve Irwin.

This pop culture icon was born on February 22nd in 1962 in his native Australia.

The adventure seeking personality captivated audiences with his alter ego known as the “Crocodile Hunter”.

He engaged audiences with educational and entertaining information about animals that he interacts with.

He has has many different television shows and appearances due to his popularity in Australia and worldwide.

His life was unfortunately taken early during filming of one of his documentaries.

In 2006, while shooting a documentary about animals, Irwin was killed by a stingray while interacting with the animal. He was only 44.

His funeral was watched only over 300 million viewers and he was cemented into pop culture and our heart forever.
