One of the newest members of the Boys on 161st Street is off to a fast start with his new team. Juan Soto is 5/7 with 3 home runs and 2 doubles so far in spring training.

Soto was acquired by the Yankees in a blockbuster trade in December including names like Michael King, Kyle Higashioka, and top pitching prospect Drew Thorpe. In his first game for the Yankees he went 1-2 with a three run home run.
He then followed that performance with another 1-2 game including a double, followed by a 2-2 performance including his second home run of the spring.
The Yankees made a decent splash this off season, acquiring Soto, along with Marcus Stroman, Alex Verdugo, and Trent Grisham. These signings, and the hopeful breakout seasons for young stars like Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, and possibly Jasson Dominguez could be special for the Yankees this season.
Yankees fans, including myself, are excited to see the Soto and Judge tandem tantalize MLB teams this season, and hopefully for seasons to come.
