The second round of the NBA Playoffs is now set, with the Cavaliers defeating the Orlando Magic in game 7 of their first-round series. All of the series should be competitive, but I want to talk about my two favorite series.
Nuggets vs. Timberwolves
This series will be a fun one, with the two and three seeds set to face off in Denver. This series is a matchup between young star, Anthony Edwards, and MVP favorite Nikola Jokic.
In game one on Saturday, Anthony Edwards dropped 43 points in a dominant first game from the Timberwolves. Taking a game in Denver is huge for the series, and the Nuggets have ground to make up.
Nikola Jokic still scored 32 points in the loss, but the rest of his team may need to come to his aid if the Nuggets are to get back in this series.
Game 2 of the series will take place on Monday, May 6th in Denver. It will be important for Denver to win this game, avoiding the home sweep.
Knicks vs. Pacers
Knicks are riding high after wrapping up the six-game series in Philly on Thursday. Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo have brought life back to New York Basketball and it feels amazing.
The Knicks have another test in front of them however, as the Pacers are a high-powered offense. With Tyrese Haliburton really finding his stride this season, the Knicks need to play their top level of basketball.
The two teams split their season series, with both games coming within ten days of each other back in February. The Knicks’ loss in that season series came at the expense of a severely injured Knicks roster.
My gut tells me the Knicks should win this series, but that very well might take them seven games.
