NFL Combine Record Broken: Xavier Worthy’s Historic Day

Logan Sherwood Avatar

This Saturday the combine featured quarterbacks and wide receivers for the day. One of those receivers being Texas Longhorns Xavier Worthy.

A staple of the NFL Combine is the forty yard dash. It allows the athletes to show off their inhuman speeds to NFL coaches and scouts.

Xavier Worthy did just that. In his first attempt, Worthy ran an unofficial 4.25 second dash. He then followed that with his second attempt which clocked in at 4.22 seconds unofficially.

However a few minutes went by and after seeing exactly when he crossed the line, his official time was slotted at 4.21 seconds; A new NFL Combine record surpassing John Ross with his 4.22 second forty yard dash.

His performance at the combine is sure to raise his draft stock, as coaches and scouts from across the league will want to utilize his speed. Worthy’s performance is almost as impressive as my own forty yard dash from high school clocking in at 5.05 seconds…
