Just last season, LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time points leader; But he’s not done yet. Last night, James reached the 40,000 point mark and became the first player in NBA history to do so.

Last night the Lakers took on the Denver Nuggets in Los Angeles, and James came into the game just nine points shy of 40,000. So the spotlight was on him. He surpassed the mark just over a minute into the second quarter.

James is making his case to be called the GOAT over Michael Jordan even more convincing and he’s still not done. He’s playing as well as he ever has in his 21st NBA season so why would he stop.

The Lakers couldn’t pull out a victory, losing 124-114 putting a damper on LeBron’s historic night. However, the all-time scoring record will continue to grow.
