The UFC and Dana White have been building up the anticipation for their UFC 300 card for months now. This past weekend the main event was finally announced: Alex Pereira will take on Jamahal Hill in a Light Heavyweight Championship bout.

Pereira has been a force since joining the UFC, where he quickly rose up the ranks and took the UFC Middleweight title from long time rival Israel Adesanya. Pereira has now joined the light heavyweight division and in his first fight he secured the belt.

Hill, who just so happens to be the former light heavyweight champion, has had a different road to this fight. After joining the UFC in 2020, he got off to a 1-1 start in his first two fights. After those two, he has since been on a four fight win streak, which also included his capture of the belt.

He quickly had to vacate his title, after sustaining an injury in training which required surgery. That gave Pereira the opportunity to take the belt, and lead us to this moment.

UFC 300 is shaping up to be a massive success for the UFC, with fighters such as my favorite fighter Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, and Weili Zhang and one of my favorites Cody Garbrandt.
