Creator of the Week: CharlieBarley

CharlieBarley is a creator on Youtube who creates content of her playing mostly cozy games, most well-known for her Stardew Valley videos.

She posted her first video on June 5th, 2021, and has amassed 150,000 subscribers since then, which is an incredibly impressive feat.

Her silly personality and knowledge of the game meld together to create cute, comforting content.

One of her most popular series covers Stardew Valley Expanded, a modded version of the game Stardew Valley.

Within the series, Charlie explores the new areas of Pelican Town and meets the new NPCs (Non-Player Characters), and takes a special liking to a new NPC named Vincent.

Trust me the Vincent drama is worth the binge of all her episodes.

Charlie is a creator that I found during my most recent Stardew hyper-fixation and her videos bring me so much comfort that most nights I play them to fall asleep.

All her videos have a warm “welcome, welcome,” a few clear set goals, and numerous silly jokes. Her videos are long enough to keep you entertained for a while but cut in a way where you’re never bored.

As a Stardew Valley player, myself, I like to play her videos in the background when I do my work and am unable to play the game myself (like right now, writing this).

Another very cool thing that Charlie has done was a video called “Stardew Valley In Real Life,” where she lived on a farm and for a month and completed the various goals you would see in real life.

These goals included farming, where she grew a tomato plant. She accomplished combat by making a slime (a common foe in the game) out of Jello. She also accomplished fishing, mining, and foraging.

This video was not only entertaining but also provided a window to get to know Charlie a little better, as she doesn’t usually show her face in her videos.

Overall, Charlie is a very sweet, funny, and down-to-earth content creator and I would highly recommend watching her videos.

Most of her videos are Stardew Valley related, but she also dabbles in other games that fit the cozy genre such as Terraria, Animal Crossing, Apico, and more!

Here’s a link to her social media pages, feel free to send her some love!
