The Real Housewives
The pandemic allowed me to watch a variety of new shows that I probably would’ve ignored.
One of those shows was The Real Housewives.
I originally started with the Orange County franchise… but it couldn’t keep me occupied.
I then tried the Atlanta franchise and that’s when I fell in love with the Real Housewives.
This post will talk about the Real Housewives as a series, not individual franchises.
Synopsis:
The Real Housewives is about a group of wealthy women who live in or near a particular city.
The show follows each woman around and takes a look at her life as well as the group dynamic with the other women.
There are 11 American installments of the show which is usually broadcasted on Bravo. There are 19 international installments and 26 different spinoffs.
The idea for the show was due the big success of Peyton Place and Desperate Housewives.
Bravo wanted to create a show that portrayed the essence of those shows but included real women.
My Thoughts:
The Real Housewives is a guilty pleasure of mine.
So far, I have watched the Atlanta, New York City, New Jersey, Potomac, Beverly Hills and Dubai franchises.
Let me tell you something… each franchisee is good in its own way, but I absolutely adore The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills and Atlanta.
The women within these shows kept me intrigued and interested.
The drama, whether it’s real or fake… I live for it. Also, the show has led to many memes that a lot of people love, but have no idea where they are from.
One person that I really enjoyed is the iconic Lisa Vanderpump.
Lisa is from The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills franchise.
One thing about me is that I love a British accent. Lisa has some of the best one-liners and just made me laugh.
Another honorable mention is the amazing Nene Leakes.
Nene is from The Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise. Nene is one of the people my mom watched The Real Housewives for.
She is insanely funny and had some of the best meme-able moments.
Last but not least, we have the spectacular Sonja Morgan.
Sonja is from The Real Housewives of New York City franchise.
Sonja grew on me as the seasons went on because she really is ride or die for the people she loves.
Also, my girl married a Morgan… which means she married the bank.
The Naiyah Rating:
I would have to give The Real Housewives a 5-star rating.
I live for petty drama that does not involve me and this show delivers on that.
It almost reminds me of Bad Girls Club… just a lot less fights.
It can almost be considered as the classier version of BGC. If you are a fan of reality television, then the Real Housewives is a show for you.
I might be a little biased, but I suggest starting with Beverley Hills or Atlanta because they have a lot of seasons and the shows are pretty good.
If you’re looking for a great show to just have on… I suggest The Real Housewives
