THE 100

The CW

The 100 is a show that remained on “My List” for years before I actually decided to watch it.

I never thought a science fiction show would be my cup of tea. After tirelessly looking through different shows that could not keep my interest, I decided to give The 100 a chance.

No one could’ve predicted that I would treasure this show as much as I have.

Synopsis:

The show is set after a nuclear explosion destroys Earth making it unlivable for humans.

Only certain people make it to 12 global space stations where they lived for several generations.

The CW

As time continues on, resources start to decrease, and the leaders need to come up with a plan or the human race will cease to exist.

The leaders decide to send 100 teenage prisoners to Earth, without knowing if Earth is even habitable.

The juveniles who spent their entire lives in space are now the on their own, in a foreign place.

They are committed to survival and their job is to let the Ark (the space station) know that the earth is livable. With this task, these kids are now in control of entire human race’s destiny.

Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia, Raven and John are some of the teenagers who step up to try to make sense of this daunting, yet captivating new world.

My Thoughts:

The 100 is a show that is dark and grim, but it will make you want to be on this journey with them.

Clarke is a natural born leader who will do anything to save her people, regardless of the cost.

The CW

I had a love hate relationship with Clarke, but after finishing the series, she became one of my favorite characters.

Another character that I connected with is Octavia Blake.

The CW

Octavia is the black sheep of her family due to the fact she spent much of her life hidden from everyone on the Ark.

In this world, since resources were so scarce, families were only allowed one offspring. Her mother defied the rules and hid Octavia under the floorboards.

Throughout the multiple seasons, you see new foes that Skaikru (the people from the Ark) must go against to survive.

Without giving spoilers, my favorite villains are A.L.I.E, Lexa from Trikru and Russell & Josephine Lightbourne.

The CW

The Naiyah Rating:

The 100 is one of the best shows that I have watched. The drama left me on the edge of my seat on numerous occasions.

Seasons 1-4 are top tier, but the whole series is worth sitting down and binging.

I have never watched anything like which is why it was so fascinating to me.

This is a show that you will want to dedicate your time to as each episode is important to understanding the storyline of the show.

Where to Watch:

Netflix subscription. The episodes are available for renting/purchasing on, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Vudu and Apple TV.
