Superstore
When I was chilling with my sorority sister, she suggested that we watch Superstore.
Prior to that, I had never heard of the show. I was hesitant because I had no idea what the show was about or if I would even like it.
You’ll be glad to know that I binged the entire series within a week… that’s how much I enjoyed watching it.
Synopsis:
Superstore is about a co-workers who work at the fictitious megastore, Cloud 9. It resembles a Walmart Supercenter.
The show stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Sakura, Mark McKinney and Kaliko Kauahi.
The first episode begins with meeting a new employee, Jonah who gets off on the wrong foot with his new co-workers.
The television show is centered around the employees and the obstacles that can occur during the workday.
Throughout the show, you meet new co-workers and start to understand their relationships with each other.
Superstore has 6 seasons with 11-22 episodes per season.
My Thoughts:
I’m not going to lie… I did not expect Superstore to be as good as it was.
The show includes a lot of dark and off-beat humor which is something I live for.
Superstore somewhat resembles The Office and Community in the sense that the shows are fake, but seem like they’re documentaries.
I am in love with The Office.
The show touches on really important topics such as Covid-19 and deportation, which I enjoyed. I also loved the diversity of the cast.
I love every character honestly, but one character that I am obsessed with is Dina.
Dina really reminded me of a meaner version of Dwight Schrute.
She cares entirely too much about her job and she has some of the best jokes.
Another honorable mention is Cheyenne.
Cheyenne reminds me of a sweet, ditsy girl who you love only because you have to see her at work.
I don’t think I could be friends with her in real life, but I know she means well.
The Naiyah Rating:
Overall, I give Superstore a 5-star rating. I am obsessed with the main characters as well as the minor characters.
Superstore is a great show if you are looking for something with low commitment.
The jokes are top tier and it is a great show to watch in the background or with your friends.
By the end of the series, you’ll want to work at Cloud 9 and be a part of the gang.
Where to Watch:
Hulu, NBC and Peacock subscription. The episodes are available for renting/purchasing on, Amazon Prime, Vudu and Apple TV.
