The idea of this blog came to me because of my passion as a music listener. Music is universal, a language all its own.
The goal of Sampl’d is to give my readers a weekly crash course on the art of song sampling. So what exactly is song sampling? Sampling is when an artist recycles part of a previously existing track based on its rhythm, melody, speech, and other elements to add contemporized nuances.
Conversations in this blog will revolve primarily around Hip-Hop and R&B tracks. Not only is that my favorite kind of music, but the genre is the foundation for sampling.
