Mr. Alex Daniel Tuch, born May 10, 1996 (age 25) in Syracuse, New York has been in the National Hockey League for 8 years now. He was drafted in the first round (18th overall) in 2014 by the Minnesota Wild. Upon entering the league, he has played for three clubs total. He stayed with Minnesota until traded to newly founded team at the time, Las Vegas Golden Knights back in 2017. Although drafted into the league three years prior, Tuch never played a full season in the NHL until being acquired by Vegas. From there, he continued to play for four more seasons in Vegas until being shipped back to his homeland Buffalo, New York.
Tuch was the main piece of the ONLY blockbuster trade thus far for the current 2021-2022 season. Tuch, along with Peyton Krebs and a first round pick were sent to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for former 2015 first round draft pick (2nd overall) Jack Eichel and a future pick in the 2023 draft. Since joining his childhood favorite team, Tuch has registered 22 points in 21 games (7 goals, 15 assists).
With 29 games remaining in the regular season, fans in Buffalo are very excited to see what Alex Tuch can do with the Sabres. Despite the Sabres not being near playoff contention this season, Tuch seems to stay positive and bring that uplifting energy that’s been missing the past few years to the squad. If he continues his success, there should be no doubt that he will be promoted to captain of the team. Tuch is signed through 2025 so he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Better days seem near for the Sabres organization, and hopefully the move by general manager Kevyn Adams was the right one. Time will only tell though, but nevertheless, Tuch is excited to be a Sabre, and even happier to be closer to home.
Nice article, glad he’s in Buffalo! Good luck with your blog, hopefully team gets better soon and you get a lot of interest
