Power(ing) Up

The 2021 1st overall pick has (finally) arrived in Buffalo!

Owen Power, who has been playing at the University of Michigan, was signed last week to a 3-year entry level contract following the loss to Denver in the frozen four.

Although he only has a couple of NHL games under his belt, he is receiving lots of praise from his new teammates, head coach Don Granato, and the sabres mafia. Power looks calm and professional, almost like he’s been playing for years. Forward Alex Tuch touched upon this after his debut in Toronto last week.

Although Buffalo has 5 games remaining this season, as well as now being officially eliminated from the playoffs, many wonder why there’s all this buzz surrounding the squad here at the end of the season. Since March 1st, Buffalo has been on pace for 100+ record, going 13-11 since the 1st. Pretty impressive since playoff teams such as Toronto and Las Vegas have worse records then this during the given time frame.

With Power arriving and fitting right into the team, the fans and even the players aren’t looking forward to the season ending. Unfortunately though, they will have to wait until this October to start a new season.

Hopefully with the offseason break coming soon, they all take the time to rest, reflect and prepare to bring playoff hockey back to Chippewa in Buffalo.
