This weekend I went to my first NBA game. I know It will be the first of many. My anticipation for the game was really high because they were playing against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers are a good team with star players like Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and James Harden. The Raptors played against them that same week and won. I was hoping for the same turn out this game.
Raptors v. 76ers 10/28/2022
The game started of good for the Raptors. However, the 76ers started to lead around halfway through the first quarter. The 76ers did not have Joel Embiid playing this game. I would guess that lit a fire in Tyrese Maxey. He was the star in the this game. Raptors fans in the arena long with myself were in awe his performance. He is a very talented player.
The Raptors tried to keep up with just being 2 point behind on the first quarter. After that the game pretty much went to the 76ers. Tyrese Maxey had perfect first half as he did not miss not one shot taken. He ended the game with 44 points. OG Anunoby held it down for the Raptors as he made 19 points for the game. Fred VanVeelt did not play as well as he usually does. Scottie Barnes did amazing with catching rebounds throughout the games. I just think the Raptors feel short in utilizing each player and being a team. There were instances were passing the ball would have been a better move than just taking a shot and missing. Particularly Vanvleet did this a lot as he made only one point the entire game.
Overall Experience
I enjoyed the entire experience even though the Raptors lost. During the half time I did some public interviews with the fans inside and outside the Scotiabank Arena. The fans were excited to be included in the fandom.
