Raptors gained possession of the ball at the tip. Just a few seconds into to the game number 23, Fred VanVleet, made the shot of the game at the three point line. This set the tone of the rest of the game. The Raptors lead the rest of the game each quarter.
The Lakers did put on a phenomenal performance despite not having their star players on the floor. I know fans were disappointed to find out LeBron James and Anthony Davis were not playing in last nights game. The lakers did hold their self up despite not having James and Davis present on the court. They were out of last nights game because they were both sick.
“We did what we were supposed to do,” said VanVleet. “There were a couple games this year where guys have been out and we just didn’t jump right away. And I think we did what we were supposed to do tonight. We were professional, locked in from the jump ball, just didn’t give them any chance to get going.”
“It’s just finding ways,” he said. “You know, you’ve always got to find ways to continue to be successful. It’s a balancing act of trying to run the show and score and make sure we’re winning and make sure we’re efficient. My teammates have been incredibly successful this year. O.G.’s having a great year. So just finding ways, sometimes you’ve got to get out of the way, but tonight just being aggressive. I think I’m at my best when I’m playing downhill with the ball in my hands. It was one of those nights tonight.”
The Raptors ended the game with a 13 point lead. We can thank Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet for dropping the most points this game. Each player mad a total of 25 points.
Lakers-116, Raptors-126
