Ten Horror Films To Check Out This Summer

With summertime just around the corner, I decided to compile a list of 10 horror movies fit for nights after telling campfire stories and some horrifying things to beware of in your vacation travels. 

  1. Jeepers Creepers (2001)– College students get run off the road by a flesh-eating demonic creature on their way home for summer vacation.
  1. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)– A group of friends commit a hit and run and receive a letter from a witness who proceeds to torment them for the next summer.
  1. Sleepaway Camp (1983)– After enduring a life of abuse, a child is sent to summer camp and faces even more bullying. Paranoia surrounds them all after a string of nasty deaths occur throughout the summer. 
  1. Hostel (2005)– A group of backpackers get swindled by beautiful women who lure them into the wrong end of a company where people are tortured and killed for a price. 
  1. IT Chapter One (2017)– The remake of the Stephen King novel follows a group of outcasts on summer break, who face a demonic clown who can shapeshift into their greatest fears.
  1. The Hills Have Eyes (1977)– A family’s car breaks down in the middle of the Nevada desert, so they face violent cannibals inhabiting the area.
  1. Stage Fright (2014)– Starring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, a musical theater-hating murderer terrorizes a student at a theater summer camp.
  1. Head Count (2018)– While on vacation, a group of college students are stalked by a shapeshifter who intends to use them for a ritual
  1. Us (2019)– At a vacation beach house, a family meets their doppelgangers, who have the intent to replace them.  
  1. Midsommar (2019)– A woman travels to Sweden with her boyfriend and his friends and stumbles across an increasingly bizarre cult with horrific traditions.
