The independent film production and distribution company, A24 has released over 120 movies since 2012, according to Rotten Tomatoes and Movie Insider. Although Beau is Afraid will be one of many releases by this company in 2023, this seems to be one of their most eye-catching.
This dramatically odd horror-comedy stars Joaquin Phoenix, who’s notable for his lead role in Joker and Nathan Lane, known for voicing Timon in The Lion King.
Despite little information being released about the film, it has been announced that the film will be directed, produced and written by Ari Aster. Aster is the mind behind some of the 2010s greatest horrors, such as Midsommar and Hereditary.
Beau is Afraid is set to release on April 21st, 2023.
