Honestly, lately I have had a loss of inspiration. It has been so hard for me to be creative and spark joy.<\/p>\n<p>For my most recent look for the IG Drag competition @queenspurgatory, this weeks challenge was inspired by the characters of the board game Candyland. We were randomly given different characters to base our looks off from and I got King Candy.<\/p>\n<p>Now what am I going to do with this short, old, white man?! <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-191 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/fredstories.com\/memoirsgaysha\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/King_kandy_80s.jpg?resize=209%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"209\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/fredstories.com\/memoirsgaysha\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/King_kandy_80s.jpg?resize=209%2C300&amp;ssl=1 209w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/fredstories.com\/memoirsgaysha\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/King_kandy_80s.jpg?w=288&amp;ssl=1 288w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yet, this challenge pushed me to be creative and resourceful with what I had on hand. I decided to go in a whole different direction of what King Candy could be and turn the character into an Asian empress.<\/p>\n<p>My inspirations for this look were the ornate headpieces of the Chinese empresses mixed with the Harajuku decora fashions. Pocky, Hi-Chews, and the classic fortune cookies. I really wanted to get the Hello Panda cookies that my friends love munching on so much but they did not have any at the Walmart that I went to.<\/p>\n<p>This entire look was a love letter to my favorite sweets. I was able to have some tasty treats while constructing these pieces.
