The Rise of Fallon Angel

Mabuhay! My name is Fallon Angel but behind all this glamour, glitter, and mascara is a 20-year-old, gay, femme, Filipino college student named Yuwan. As a person with intersecting identities, it has always been hard for me to find any representation on any platform.

Me in a versatile array of looks!

Fallon Angel was born as a result of my self-discovery through a dark time in my life of family problems, high-school drama, and a disconnect of my identities. The name Fallon Angel has multiple meanings and different stories.

To break the name apart, Fallon comes from one of my favorite shows Dynasty who Fallon Carrington is the main character. Fallon also serves as a homophone for the word “fallen.”

My muse, Liz Gillies as Fallon Carrington

Angel comes from my love of musical theatre as angel is a recurring theme in various shows including: Angel in Rent, Lola’s Angels in Kinky Boots, Reno’s Angels in Anything Goes, and the play Angels in America.

Angels have always been so prominent in my life.

The name as a whole is a reference and reclamation of my trauma from attending a Catholic education my entire life until college. Let me just say, putting your child in a Catholic school system is the #1 way to ensure that they will no longer be Catholic.

Through Fallon Angel, it is my goal to live my life authentically and confidently beautiful with a heart. I have found a new side of me and through drag found a sense of pride in who I am.

I mean, I have always had an inkling of Fallon in me since birth. Whether it was through playing with Halloween makeup, begging to put on my sister’s first communion dress, or wearing my pink Hello Kitty towel as my “hair.”

The signs were very early.
