Reconstructing Narratives

A photo competition was announced last semester during the month of November at my college campus. The theme was Reconstructing Narratives with the prompt of addressing inequities in our life or the lives of other. I figured, “Why not?” and made my submissions for the competition.

And I won.

It was such a surprise to me that out of all the applicants, my photos received the first place position. I couldn’t describe the feeling when I found out. But it validated my experiences and made me truly happy doing what I do.

Earlier this year on my blog I made the post Heavenly Bodies relating to my photo submissions: https://fredstories.com/memoirsgaysha/heavenly-bodies/ Within this post I delve deeper into the process of my photos from the meaning to how I constructed my garment.

My photos are available to view for free at the Marion Art Gallery Lobby at SUNY Fredonia! Please come take a look and be sure to also appreciate the other artists works displayed.

In celebration of my achievement, I have decided to sell prints of my photos on my TeeSpring. Here is the link if you want to support, I also have other designs available with new ones coming out each month.
