Let’s talk about sweet treats! Honestly, lately I have had a loss of inspiration. It has been so hard for me to be creative and spark joy.
For my most recent look for the IG Drag competition @queenspurgatory, this weeks challenge was inspired by the characters of the board game Candyland. We were randomly given different characters to base our looks off from and I got King Candy.
Now what am I going to do with this short, old, white man?! 
Yet, this challenge pushed me to be creative and resourceful with what I had on hand. I decided to go in a whole different direction of what King Candy could be and turn the character into an Asian empress.
My inspirations for this look were the ornate headpieces of the Chinese empresses mixed with the Harajuku decora fashions. I really wanted to incorporate and celebrate the Asian culture with my look.
For my headpiece I bought different types of classic Asian snacks that you would find at the Asian supermarket. Pocky, Hi-Chews, and the classic fortune cookies. I really wanted to get the Hello Panda cookies that my friends love munching on so much but they did not have any at the Walmart that I went to.
This entire look was a love letter to my favorite sweets. I was able to have some tasty treats while constructing these pieces. An honest win/win.
The results of this week’s challenge were great too! I came in second and had a ton of good feedback from the page’s followers!
