Sweat Deck: Push Yourself While Playing Cards

The best kind of workouts are when they are both fun and challenging at the same time.

Unfortunately, it can be hard to create or find exercises that check off both of those boxes.

The good news is, I was recently put onto an app that makes a workout for you with a deck of cards!

Sweat Deck is a free app that allows the user to pick which exercises they want to perform. The twist is you don’t know when and how many of a given exercise will be given out at a time.

The way it works is, first you select 4 types of workouts, each which will correspond with a suit.

Then you are able to choose amongst several settings such as, the value you want for the face cards and aces.

After that, you’re all set to start, and it will begin with randomly assigning you a card. Once you complete the exercise you tap the card and it keep shuffling through the deck until it’s done!

When I used Sweat Deck for the first time, I wanted a full body workout.

I ended up choosing push-ups, step-ups, planks, and burpees. If you want a hard workout, then definitely try it out.

Tips for Using Sweat Deck:

      • You can always add difficulty to your workout by adding weights if you’re looking for more a challenge.
        • Many of the workouts can be simplified if any of the exercises are bit too hard. For example, if push-ups are not your strong suit (pun intended), you can try doing them with your knees on the ground to assist you.
          • While you can pay to access Sweat Deck Pro, if you want an exercise that isn’t offered in the app, I just choose a workout that I associate with the one I really want to do. Say I wanted to do wall sits, I would just choose squats and then when that card comes up I do wall sits instead. It’s a good hack to saving $$.

I hope you get a good sweat sweat in! 🙂
