Yesterday afternoon, the Islanders won against the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 at UBS Arena and it was a huge win in many ways.
The Islanders came back from 1-0 down and scored 4 unanswered goals which shows how resilient their group of players are, and by beating Detroit they get crucial points in the race for the Wild Card which Detroit is trying to do as well.

Zach Parise scored his 16th of the season, Anders Lee scored his 23rd and 24th of the season, Kyle Palmieri scored his 10th of the season on the power play, and on top of that Ilya Sorokin saved 22 of 23 shots to further his claim in the Vezina Trophy race.
The Islanders will look to gather more points Tuesday night at UBS Arena against another team that is in the Wild Card race in the Buffalo Sabres.
