On Tuesday Night, The New York Islanders beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in a crucial game for both teams as they are both very close in the race for the Wild Card in the Eastern Conference.
At the 7:37 mark of the third period, the game was tied 2-2. However, Hudson Fasching changed that when the puck deflected off Hudson’s shin and in the net and was originally ruled a kicking motion thus making it not a goal since that is not allowed in the NHL Rulebook.
After minutes of review, the NHL ruled that since it was deflected off solely the shin it went into net in a legal fashion and was ruled a goal, giving the Islanders the win.
However, there has been a lot of controversy on all types of social media on if this should have been a goal or not.
Should this have been a goal? Let me know what you think in the comments!
