As we have talked about in the previous blog, Matthew Maggio was a 5th round pick and has recently signed his entry-level deal to be in the organization.

You can say what you want about the Islanders not having a lot of prospects, but Maggio’s recent quote is gonna have you wanting to root for the kid.

Having a young player like that talk about UBS Arena being his dream to play in, and having it not be hard to want to work to get at the next level is refreshing to listen to as an Islander fan, and I will be rooting hard for him.

Maggio will have a chance to make the big team out of training camp, if not he will be reported to Bridgeport.
