Tips from A College Senior: How to Make the Most out of your Spring Break

Ahh, finally! You can come back home to get a break from the hustle and bustle of college life, but how can you fully get the most out of your week-long break? Welp, your local college senior is here to help you!

  1. Understand that Spring Break will always feel short

You always see on YikYak that “spring break flew by and I did nothing”. Well, sorry to say, that feeling will not go away no matter how you spend that break. A week will always feel like a week, think about it this way; did a week feel short while in classes? If it did, then spring break will also feel short.

  1. Get some stuff on your “I should do this now that I have freetime” list done

Have you been pushing back reading that one book you so desperately want to finish but have other academic assignments you could be working on instead? This is your chance to make a list of things you’ve been wanting to do for a long time but haven’t had the time to do, within reason of course.

  1. Rest, rest, rest!

I have been reading some studies that show that we are always going to be tired because of the phenomenon called “sleep debt”, so why not take this week to pay off some of that debt?

  1. Do nothing???

I know, I know, some people honestly hate doing nothing (me included), but this break is your chance to relax and take a breath of air that you do not normally get to have during classes and clubs. So take this opportunity to do so now so you won’t regret burning yourself out during your god-given break.

  1. Have fun!
