It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Spotify Wrapped

With both the semester and year coming to an end, the stress is building and deadlines are sneaking up.

It is easy to get caught up in all of that but, Spotify annually brings around a fun feature that gets everyone’s mind off things for at least a little bit: Spotify Wrapped.

Last week Spotify partnered up with Instafest, which I wrote about last week, and it gave a wide variety of the listeners’ favorite artists. Spotify Wrapped is a bit more precise.

I was not shocked by my top five. After they released this list I became grossly aware of how much I only listen to these artists.

It is quite cool to me that Neck Deep is still on here. I didn’t have a paid Spotify until I started college, so many of my music listening years are undocumented. Neck Deep has always been a top 5 though, since 2015.

I spent a total of almost 3 days listening to Covey.

I’ve mentioned this artist in many of my posts. Their music got me through many tough times. Although I will say I do listen to Covey quite frequently when I’m not in a “drive my car into the lake” mood. There is just something so freeing about screaming Sam Jam or Cut On the Crease while driving. I recommend listening to Class of Cardinal Sin in it’s entirety, maybe a few times.

This deserves a big cackle. 317 times I listened to this song. You want to know who hurt me enough to do so? The singing class I was in last semester. I am not a ☆performer☆ , but alas I sang this in front of the entire class many times. To learn it I would just listen to it on repeat until I memorized it.

Also the day with the most listens sits in my brain. I know what you’re thinking, oooo 4/20 how fun. NO. That day was a Wednesday so I had the singing class and had to practice. Later that same day I had my first day at a new job and after the shift I just sat in my car listening to this on repeat and crying. I then quit the job.

I noticed this year Apple Music has began sharing stats at the end of the year in a similar way. This is very cool and it will be interesting to watch it evolve.

I love being able to learn stuff about myself. Maybe, whoever reads this agrees, but when it comes to answering about my favorite music or like movies my mind draws a blank.

So if you’ve ever approached me asking me my preferences in music and I have not given you a solid answer. Here you go.

I really enjoy seeing everyone share theirs, so keep it up!
