Now Taking Name Alternatives For Birdpiche Fest

It is almost the time of year for everyone’s favorite Spotify feature, Spotify Wrapped. The feeling of FOMO when I saw everyone posting theirs is actually what got me to switch from Apple Music to Spotify.

Between yesterday and this morning the website Instafest paired up with Spotify to create a listener’s dream three day festival based on their Spotify stats.

I believe Spotify has done something similar in the past with the website Festify.

Today I am exposing myself and sharing and breaking down my festival.

Before I even begin on the artists, I want to make it very clear that if I had a festival of any size it would not be called the Birdpiche Fest, maybe Bird Fest, but definitely not Birdpiche Fest. To be honest after I saw that that was my username I have began to think up alternatives to change it to.

Anyways, on to the performances.

It has come to my attention you can change the length of time they take the stats, I did last 6 months. I also didn’t see the other editing options because I did it on my phone at first. oh well

Day 1:

Right off the bat, headlining is my favorite, Covey. No complaints here, I would only request they play Class of Cardinal Sin in it’s entirety and maybe sprinkle in Jupiter (Intro)

The next three bands are Carpool, Joyce Manor, and Moose Blood. Carpool is quite familiar with a good fest and I have no doubt they would have the crowd moving. Joyce Manor would make me and my close friends go feral. The second they play Constant Headache, it’s over. Ah yes, Moose Blood. They were my first concert in Canada. I imagine they would have the crowd in tears.

Now onto the openers for that day of Birdpiche Fest.

Heart Attack Man, all I have to say for them is there better be a tricycle entrance. Noah Kahan deserves to be in a festival and I’d be happy to help as long as he supplies the good hometown vibes. Demi Lovato is on this list because I listen to 29 everyday probably 10 times. I know they would play absolute bangers. Hobo Johnson, well, I would have to clear some things up before allowing him on the festival. Modern Baseball, yes please. I’d spend the whole festival budget if that meant having them perform. This one is quite yikes but, The Glee Cast. Unfortunately, the issue with this is many of the cast is no longer with us (RIP). Perhaps this portion of the fest is just a viewing of clips of performances from Glee. The last opener, the beautiful Phoebe Bridgers. I would request that MUNA also join the show; I was supposed to see Silk Chiffon live but, MUNA was sick that date.

Day 2:

Headlining day 2, the one and only, Fletcher. For the girls, gays, and theys, Fletcher would put on one heck of a show.

I hope you are ready to be in your feels because before the Fletch is Microwave, Hot Mulligan, and Lucy Dacus. Microwave’s instrumentals make my brain BUZZ. I could listen to their guitar solos all day. I think I’ve only seen Hot Mulligan once or twice so this performance would be quite the treat, despite bringing tears to my eyes. Madame Dacus would without a doubt put on a snazzy set. I have never seen her perform and it is very much a dream of mine.

Some of these openers are definitely doing this as charity work.

Starting off very strong, Miley Cyrus. I would love to hear some of their new stuff but, I do hope they would sneak Hannah Montana songs in. To have Ghostpool there would ensure that wherever the fest takes place people from Buffalo will be there. I would be in front of the crowd for this set, no question. This band is another dream of mine to see, Paramore. Hayley Williams is unhinged in the absolute best way and just knows what she’s doing. I think having this next band at the fest may have potential to cause overcrowding. I have no idea how I would pull this off but, I think it would be absolutely insane to see One Direction in a lineup with some of the previously mentioned artists. I think every festival has Sleeping with Sirens there, so this just makes sense. I don’t know how they do it. I am very excited to have this next band on the bill, maybe just because I would want to hang with them during the festival. Superficial lives rent free in my head, I would probably have them help me run the whole thing. The Chicks deserve their own day. Despite being an opener, they will be having a very long set.

Day 3:

I have been seeing this next band since maybe 2015 and every time feels like the first time. I would be honored to have the lads in Neck Deep as a part of this.

We have an interesting pair back to back. The Front Bottoms and Pierce the Veil. I would ensure that whenever this set happens I am free. Both 15 year old me and 23 year old me would be content.

A long list of openers this round. Another one of my favorites to see live, Knuckle Puck. Get your pointer fingers out and vans on. I promise I would find a way for this next artist to not make tickets be over $1000. I would probably keep this set a secret until the day of; Taylor Swift is a gorgeous mastermind. The next band has one of my favorite stage and lighting setup. The 1975 would set the Tumblr vibe and everyone would magically change into fishnets and chokers. Trophy Eyes take up a large portion of space on my arm so it is only right they are a part of this bill.

I am going to pair up the next two artists. Adam Pascal and Rosario Dawson, for those who don’t know they play Roger and Mimi in Rent. Exposing a bit of my guilty pleasures. This would be a short set as it would just be the Light My Candle scene and the I Should Tell You one.

On the printed schedule for the day this next artist will be on there as Never Shit Never, as an homage to the one Warped Tour did in 2015.  Following NSN, is the magical Kristin Chenoweth. I wouldn’t want to interrupt her creative process as I know she would have an extravagant set planned. I would only request that she sings Maybe This Time (like she did in Glee) from Cabaret. I once got mistaken for being a member of the band Pale Waves. I am still riding that ego boost. Seeing them live would be a superb time.

Some final touches to really set the scene.

I am picturing this Warped Tour style, Kevin Lyman I might hit you up for advice. No VIP passes, all general admission. Don’t worry though, maybe you can play cornhole or ring toss to get the chance to meet your favorite artists. I would have to put more thought into a location for the festival but, I’ll let you in on a secret. Darien Lake is for sure on the list.
