If you’re new to the book community, dnf <\/strong>stands for did not finish.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Gasp, I know, not finishing a book is okay? <\/p>\n\n\n\n There is a lot of negative discourse around dnfing books. A friend of mine will suffer through the entire book rather than dnfing it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And there are a lot of people out there that feel the same way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But, life is too short to read books that you’re not <\/strong>enjoying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I’m an avid supporter of dnfing books, but there’s been times I haven’t. That I’ve invested too much time into the book to not not <\/em>see how it ends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But if you’re not vibing with a book, it’s better not to force it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n (That’s also a sure way to get into a slump.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sure, it might feel like a waste of money, but you’ll feel so much better spending time reading books you ACTUALLY enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n (And how much stuff do we waste our money on all the time anyways?) <\/p>\n\n\n\n Some of my favorite videos on TikTok to watch are ones where people share the books they dnf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes that’s how I find new books to read! Reading is subjective, and just because one person disliked it, doesn’t mean you will. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, it might help push me over the edge on deciding to read a book I was on the fence about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And sometimes, those videos are just a great laugh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I’ve shared some TikToks below that touch on dnfing books.
