Welcome to my book blog where you’ll find your new favorite books!
(TBRs are meant to be never-ending).
My name is Mara, and I’m a Senior at SUNY Fredonia. Working toward a degree in Communication and a minor in Creative Writing, it’s my dream to work in the book publishing industry!
Now you’re probably wondering why you should listen to me. There’s hundreds of different blogs, YouTube videos, TikToks, and Instagram accounts that you trust their recommendations.
And I guess my answer is I don’t know.
All I want is to share my love of books with the world, and connect with others that love them just as much as I do.
And if you like romances, mysteries, or fantasies, then this blog is for you!
I’ve been an avid reader since I was a little girl. But I stopped reading as much as I got older (aside from online sites like Wattpad and Fanfiction.net).
Reading has always been something that I’ve shared with my dad. And it’s become one of the ways I stay connected with him now that he’s passed. Even though our reading tastes were completely opposite!
One of the greatest things to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic was that I found my love for reading again. It started with reading Kindle Unlimited on the Kindle app on my phone.
And now I’ve got three (small) shelves full of physical copies and a kindle that has the prettiest pink case.
And a small book buying addiction.
But it’s fine. I’m fine.
While this blog is for a class project, I’ve always wanted to create one. But I never knew where to start.
Within my book blog, I plan to share recommendations, tips on making time for reading, my favorite reading necessities, some of my favorite places to buy books, and some of my bookish opinions!
I hope that this blog finds you and fulfills your bookish needs.
And you leave with a full camera roll of screenshots of potential books. And that you’ll fall in love with the storytelling and characters as much as I have.
While I want this blog to have a friendly atmosphere, there’s something that needs to be discussed before going further.
Reading is subjective.
There might be books I love that you don’t; and there might be books I don’t love that you do.
And that’s okay.
If you don’t like a recommendation, just move on. Don’t leave comments about how much you disliked the book.
People like what they like. All I want is to share the books that I like in hopes that you might like some too.
Now, let’s all fall in love with people that don’t exist together, and connect over our love of books!
Keep an eye out for my next post where I’ll talk about some of my five star reads!
