We all know this game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We know it brings new friendships, love, hate, and the urge to destroy every one of your friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

This game, one that challenges my friendships every time I play with my friends, is one of a kind.<\/span><\/p>\n

The GOTW is\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, this game of the week is \u201cUNO.\u201d I\u2019ll be discussing the online version of \u201cUNO,\u201d the one you can play off of Steam.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUNO\u201d was originally made in 1971 by Merle Robbins. Robbins made this game to resolve an argument with his son that was about the rules of \u201cCrazy Eight.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We all know what \u201cUNO\u201d is but if you don\u2019t, I\u2019ll give you a simple explanation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUNO\u201d is a card game where the main focus is to be the first player to get rid of all of your cards.<\/span><\/p>\n

This game is a multi-player card game but this version of the game is a multi-player online card game.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve played \u201cUNO\u201d before you know just how intense this game can get, especially playing with your family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You end up breaking a bond with your mother just to save your sister (really to save yourself from your sister telling your mother every deepest, darkest secret she knows about you).<\/span><\/p>\n

I grew up playing \u201cUNO.\u201d Not as much as some families but we played it enough for me to know the main rules.<\/span><\/p>\n

The online version of \u201cUNO\u201d provides an easy way to play your favorite game with your family, no matter where you are!<\/span><\/p>\n

I play \u201cUNO\u201d occasionally with my friends and it questions our friendships.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have anyone to play with you, you can play with an AI but beware, these AIs do NOT MESS AROUND!<\/span><\/p>\n

The rules of \u201cUNO\u201d<\/b><\/h1>\n

Now, no one gets mad at me for what this section will have. I am listing the rules that \u201cUNO\u201d has posted online so this is all of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know we all make up our own rules for games, I know my family does, but this is NOT ME!<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Matching the color, number, or symbol.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If you don\u2019t have the color, number, or symbol that matches the one on the pile, you must pick up a card until you DO pick up a card that matches the symbol, color, or number.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, in the image above you see there is a blue 7 on the pile. The person who’s cards we can see, have two different cards they can place down. A blue 1 card and a blue 9 card. These are the ONLY cards they can place down.<\/p>\n

2. Stacking.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is probably the WORST rule. When someone draws a draw two or a wild draw four cards, another player can add to that pile.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So for example, if I place down a draw 2 card, the next player can also place down a draw 2 card. This then means the next player, let\u2019s say they don\u2019t have a draw 2 card, then has to pick up 4 cards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Terrible. I have screamed at my friends and family for this move.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Game of 7s and 0s.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If you have a card with a 7 on it and you place it down, you can switch your cards with another player’s cards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This can be annoying at times but it brings out some of the best memories and laughs.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the 0s aspect, if someone places a card with a 0 on it, it forces all players to take all of their cards and pass them down in the order played.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is also funny but my god, when I get so close and someone pulls this move, you best believe I will seek revenge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A clip is down below of a funny game between two of my friends and one AI where we had an unlimited amount of 7s.<\/p>\n

4. Jump in.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If someone puts down any card and you have that exact card, you can jump in and place that exact card down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, if I place down a yellow 5 and the person before me has a yellow 5 too, they can jump in and place that card down. Making it my turn once again.<\/span><\/p>\n

These are the main rules that I found on the \u201cUNO\u201d website. There are a few more within the game and its DLC but that\u2019s for all of you to explore.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUNO” is one of those games where if you can\u2019t find anything else to play, you can play this game.<\/span><\/p>\n

There have been times when my friends and I don\u2019t want to play \u201cOverwatch 2\u201d or \u201cMinecraft\u201d so we settle for \u201cUNO.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

There are also times when one game might make us angry (\u201cOverwatch 2\u201d) so we will get out of that game and decide to play a chill game to relax.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s not the case though.<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel as though we get more mad at \u201cUNO\u201d than we do at \u201cOverwatch 2.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We take the game very seriously.<\/span><\/p>\n
