If you didn’t already know, Starbucks has just launched their new Frappuccino for the summer. This is in place of their old S’mores Frappuccino, which was a seasonal drink for the summer only.
This new frap addition is titled the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino. Just yesterday, I went and ordered it in a venti and had no regrets with my purchase. It was quite the delight surprise. The drink is made with either a cream or coffee base, funnel cake syrup, strawberry purée, and of course; topped with whipped cream and funnel cake pieces.
It is said that this beverage was made in inspiration of fairs, festivals, and amusement parks. Especially with the absence we’ve had of them because of the pandemic, this was a great alternative for not being at one in person.
The drink definitely has a sweet taste because of the addition of strawberries and funnel cake syrup, but it somehow reminded me of eating waffles. But, I did taste the ‘funnel cake’ and ‘fried dough’ inspiration throughout the drink. I would also maybe compare it to strawberry shortcake, if you are a fan of that dessert, then this is the drink for you.
Overall, I really enjoyed this drink and would recommend it to anyone. And no, it’s not because I love Starbucks, but this drink really hit my sweet spot!
