As a college student I find it hard sometimes to enjoy reading as much as I use to. It feels like I\u2019m being forced to read so much that I don\u2019t read thing I like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not fun to read when you constantly have to read things you\u2019re not fully interested in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think it\u2019s really easy to forget that reading can be enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One thing you can so about this is take a break. Take a break from all the homework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not saying that you should avoid it completely but for a few minutes everyday put down your big textbooks and pick up a book you like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I always go back to my favorite book when I\u2019m struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This doesn\u2019t have to be what you do. You can pick up a new book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One that you\u2019ve been wanting to read for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You could also choose to read a book someone close to you is reading. Having someone else to talk about the book with can encourage you to want to read it as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is also the possibility that you\u2019ve outgrown the type of books you read. Try something of a different genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I used to read supernatural dramas and I grew tired of them. They felt like they always had the same story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I switched to reading young adult books. Still have some drama but in a different way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also stopped choosing books that had the stereotypical happy ending. I would get so upset at the end of books when everything just turned out okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It wasn\u2019t realistic. As active readers we want books we can relate to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We don\u2019t want books that paint the world as a place where things always end good. We want to see the pain and how they work through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
