In honor of mother’s day being a few days ago, I wanted to talk about a book my mom read to me growing up.
This book is a children’s book called ‘Love You Forever’. I re-read this lately and let me just say this should not be a children’s book.
It is about a mother getting older with her child. At every age she tells her child “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”
Every time she sings this to him she hold him. Even as he became an adult she sang this little song to her son.
Even in the end she tries to sing this to her child but she is too old and fragile so the son who is now an adult sings back to his mom “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my mommy you’ll be’.
Re-reading this book I cried like a little baby. I think that kids don’t really understands this at the young age though.
It is a beautiful story though about how a mothers love is forever. No matter what happens she will always be his mom and there will always be love there.
I think this book hits a little different as an adult. It makes you realize that you won’t always have your mom.
This idea is terrifying. Just remember no matter what happens to love your mom as long as you can
