Everything College: Getting Involved Going into college a bigger fear is not knowing how you will meet people. It\u2019s scary going into a new environment alone and nervous but excited. Getting involved is like diving into the water, staying in your room is the surface. Colleges offer clubs and organizations students can join. This introduces you to new people and new experiences. My school hosts \u201cActivities Night\u201d introducing students to all the clubs and activities on campus. Find what interests you and try it out, you\u2019d be surprised how much fun they can be. In my freshman year, I knew I wanted to join club soccer because I love the sport and staying active. I loved meeting new people who shared my interests and also loved playing the game. Throughout my years playing club soccer I\u2019ve met people that are my friends now. As a junior, I\u2019m now the president of the team and watch all the new connections form with the team. I also joined the communications club on my campus because of my major. The Applied Communication Association has introduced me to new opportunities and experiences within my major. Along with also meeting friends within my major. Getting involved will help you make your college experience, with the knowledge and people you meet along the way. Being a part of clubs can also help with your resume. I have a minor in leadership studies, and making my way up to president of my club is an example of my experience.
